Visual Arts Development and Touring

Timoteus Anggawan Kusno, work in progress, 2016

Through our program of touring exhibitions and artist in residence opportunities, we empower artists, link communities and present quality cultural experiences to remote, regional and metropolitan audiences. We aim to nurture and showcase the unique talents and perspectives of the NT while fostering exchange with outside audiences and practitioners. We reach into every State and Territory around Australia with our visual arts exhibitions, which showcase the best of 2 and 3D visual arts from independent practitioners and communities around the Northern Territory.

We have delivered a vibrant suite of artist in residence programs since 2013, enabling artists to spend up to six weeks of concentrated studio time and undertake artistic research in the thriving, creative community and cultural hub of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. Our curatorial program SPARK is an exciting opportunity for independent/emerging NT curators to spend up to six months developing an exhibition before touring it throughout the NT the following year.

If you’re an artist, curator, community or organisation, and have an idea for touring exhibition projects, get in touch! An expression of interest may be submitted at any time and will be responded to within three weeks. Budget and exhibition timeline templates are also available, and should be submitted with your expression of interest. Please refer to the exhibition proposal guidelines when preparing your submission. If successful, a more detailed touring exhibition application will be requested for assessment.
