Gail Evans is a director, writer and actor based in Darwin. She has trained overseas in Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints method of direction, which focuses on space, shape and movement to generate a deep connection to truthful and honest actor delivery. She works regularly with young and Indigenous people regionally and remotely through Corrugated Iron Youth Arts, and has a history of excellence in her directorial process and product. Gail has extensive experience in delivering theatre workshops to emerging and developing practitioners, school drama teachers and students of drama.
Workshop: introduction to improvisation and Viewpoints theatre methods
Participants can explore their acting through improvisation techniques or through Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints method, focusing on physical elements such as spatial relationship, kinaesthetic response, shape, gesture, repetition, tempo and duration. Workshops can be tailored to an actor or director focus, with all experience levels encouraged.
