Wendy Wood

Visual Arts Coordinator

Wendy is a long-term Darwin resident committed to the Northern Territory and passionate about sharing its unique stories through arts and culture, including through Indigenous voices and ensuring respectful engagement with the Country we live and work on.

Wendy brings more than 20 years of experience across exhibitions, touring, public programs, and cultural partnerships in the Northern Territory and nationally. Most recently at MAGNT, Wendy has held several roles, including Exhibitions Coordinator and, most recently, Exhibitions Manager. Wendy has also worked as Travelling Exhibition and Public Programs Coordinator at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House in Canberra, where she managed the tour of Marnti warajanga: a walk together across Perth and five remote Aboriginal communities in the Pilbara, WA.

In addition to extensive exhibition touring experience, Wendy has led major exhibition projects and worked closely with artists, communities and cultural organisations, demonstrating a strong commitment to the Northern Territory.

Outside of arts administration, Wendy is a practising ceramic artist and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual), specialising in Ceramics and Photography, from the Australian National University. Wendy has participated in numerous solo exhibitions, group shows, commissions and collaborations and uses the ceramic medium as a vehicle for conveying NT’s culture through the creation of storied vessels.
