Please note: the National Artist in Residence program is no longer accepting applications.

The residency period of up to six weeks falls during August and September, and encourages the development of a specific project of artistic enquiry that is inspired by the region.

2016

Tobias Richardson‘s work centres around drawing, painting and sculpture, using locally sourced and found materials. Having spent time in Utopia as a teacher, Alice Springs and its surrounds hold a special place for Tobias, who is represented by local Alice Springs gallery, RAFT artspace.

With themes around memory and human intervention underpinning his build environment subject matter, Tobias will revisit ideas formulated 20 years ago, creating new versions of work made in Utopia in the late 1990s.

2013

Visual artist Roland Souliere works across painting, sculpture, installation, photography and collage. She has participated in studio residencies both nationally and internationally.
