Marisa Maher

Marisa Maher is a Western Aranda woman based in Mparntwe. Marisa is a curator and assistant Manager of Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands Art Centre for the past 10 years and is a former recipient of the Wesfarmers National Gallery of Australia’s Indigenous Arts Leadership Program. Marisa co-curated the recent Desert Mob Exhibition and played a key role in curating the Desart Photography Prize. She is also a representative at the Tarnanthi festival of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and was selected to provide the National Aboriginal Art Gallery initial advice and expertise to guide the delivery of this major art gallery for national First Nations works. Marisa has curated a number of exhibition for Iltja Ntjarra over the years and worked closely with galleries in preparing artworks for exhibitions and writing essay texts.
