Cyan Sue-Lee is a Gulumerridjin (Larrakia), Wardaman and Karajarri artist and community development professional.
Cyan has extensive experience working alongside Aboriginal communities and organisations across the Top End. She is currently Capacity Building Coordinator at the Northern Australia Land and Sea Management Alliance (NAILSMA), supporting partnerships with Aboriginal-owned and controlled organisations across the Kimberley, Top End and Cape York. Her previous roles span Healthy Country planning, First Nations youth mental health and education programs, Indigenous student support and microenterprise development.
Alongside her professional career, Cyan is a multidisciplinary artist whose paintings and sculptural works draw on her multicultural heritage, ancient storytelling practices and deep love of the natural environment. Working across acrylic, natural pigments, fabric, clay and wire, she has exhibited throughout Garramilla and delivered public art commissions, murals and creative projects for organisations and communities across the Northern Territory.
As a member of the Lee/Cubillo Larrakia family, Cyan also facilitates cultural events and practices including string making, weaving, saltwater and smoking ceremonies and Larrakia storytelling, and delivers Welcome to Country.
