Artback NT is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of the Northern Territory’s vibrant arts and cultural sector. As part of our commitment to empowering the next generation of creative leaders, we are proud to deliver the Producers Mentoring Program which has been designed specifically to support Darwin-based producers who are passionate about working with and for artists and communities of the NT.
The Producer Mentoring Program will support emerging producers with the skills, networks, and practical experience necessary to deliver meaningful, sustainable and successful artistic and cultural events and projects across the Northern Territory and beyond.
This program provides participants with a supportive learning environment to explore all areas of creative producing and working in community contexts that are required when working in the NT. What is a stipend?
A stipend is a fixed sum that is paid as a salary/expense. Artback NT can offer up $5,000 in wages to participants that can be paid through the year for the producer to make space for their project. We are aware that professional developments can often be prohibitive to some people because they cannot take time off their other jobs. This is designed to help support some blocks of time for the producer to be able to pursue their art without penalties on their income.
What’s the difference between the stipend and the cash for the project?
The stipend is a fixed wage entirely for the producer. The cash for the project can be used as the project needs – payment for artists/venue or gear hire/production costs etc. Some projects may require more money than this, so the facilitator will help the producer find ways to raise the additional money.
Do I have to be based in Darwin for this?
Yes, there are two face to face intensives that will require people to be in Darwin. However, if you are not Darwin based please contact Lia to discuss what potential opportunities are available.
