Emerging from a world of indie-acoustic, experimental folk, Serina Pech combines delicate, raw vocal beauty with junk-yard style percussion. Her sound could be the eccentric love child of Joni Mitchell and the backing musicians for Tom Waits and John Cale. Serina explores and serenades, asks questions and smiles whilst musing on some of the little ironies in life.

Speaking in metaphors and drawing on everyday human interactions, her ability to relate to her audiences makes her performances more intimate and memorable. Coupled with her unique playing style and ambient vocal phrasing, her music is catchy, sweet, deceptive and enchanting. Growing up influenced by the isolated nature of rural NT town Katherine, Serina Pech, equipped with her endearing and quirky personality, captivates audiences by breaking the barrier between musician and listener with her raw and honest lyrics.

Joining Serina on her first national tour is Melbourne-based percussionist and composer, Caitlin Thomas, who recently toured around China with the Australian International Opera Company. Having studied at the Australian National University’s Pre-Tertiary Jazz Program, Caitlin is currently at Monash University undertaking a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Performance).

Working on her debut EP with Perambulator Records, Serina is recording between Melbourne and Darwin with Michael Hohnen (Gurrumul/Tom E Lewis/Skinnyfish) and James Mangohig(Sietta/Briggs/Skinnyfish) – come and celebrate the launch of her third single and experience the NT’s new talented voice.
