Ripple Effect Band – ‘NA-KALAMANDJARDA’ SINGLE LANCH NT TOUR

About
Ripple Effect Band are an all-women’s band hailing from Maningrida, West Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. Whilst following in the tradition of saltwater rock from the top end, they are forging new ground and new sound, as the first women from their community to play instruments and represent their community as musicians. Singing in the traditional languages of their people, Ndjebbana, Burarra, Na-kara and Kune, they tell stories about land, language and culture.
Forged through a long term connection and collaboration with University of Sydney’s Jodie Kell, Ripple Effect Band have played to huge audiences across Australia, having performed at Darwin Festival supporting Regurgitator, at Bush Bands Festival in Alice Springs, and Nannup Festival in WA, just to name a few.
Kicking off 25th July 2024 in Maningrida and touring across the NT with a jam-packed schedule, proudly representing as the first women from their community to form a band. Inspired by traditional saltwater rock from the top end, Ripple Effect Band forge a new sound whilst singing in the languages of their people Ndjebbana, Burarra, Nakara and Kune.
