Milikapiti Festival – A Celebration for Tiwi, by Tiwi

The Tiwi Islands will come alive on Saturday 6 September 2025 with the Milikapiti Festival – a one-day celebration of Tiwi culture, music, sport, and community pride.

Produced by proud Tiwi woman Libby Collins in partnership with Artback NT, the festival is a chance for Tiwi communities to come together, share stories, and celebrate through music, games, food, and language.

Travel and Access
The Milikapiti Festival is a celebration for Tiwi people living in Milikapiti and across the Tiwi Islands. Local bus services and additional inter-island ferry services will be available to support community travel.

Visitors from outside Tiwi are welcome, however please note that attendees will need to arrange their own transport and accommodation, as these services will not be provided by the festival team.
