Colours of the Country I + II
Alice Springs Beanie Festival
About
Colours of the Country I + II was developed by Artback NT and the Alice Springs Beanie Festival as a celebration of a dynamic community arts event, and to share in the joy of creativity with beanie lovers everywhere.
Colours of the Country I + II demonstrates the growth of the beanie as an art form over the years and the imagination, creativity and fine craftsmanship presented in each piece. It is a colourful exhibition encapsulating the whimsical essence of the Alice Springs Beanie Festival.
The collection also highlights the works produced by Indigenous artists from the Central Desert region who are regular collaborators in this cross cultural event. An exhibition embraced by a broad cross section of the community, the collection will inspire audiences to laugh, don crazy headwear and to knit, felt and sew.
