Workshop 1: What is an ‘Arts Market’ | DARWIN

From Fringe Festivals and experimental works, through to the commercial international touring circuit, there are arts markets available all around Australia that offer a platform to sell shows. How do you get involved? Which one is right for you? What does ‘tour-ready’ mean? Join Liz Rogers, Performing Arts Manager, Artback NT for an in-depth information session on how to take advantage of Arts Market opportunities.

Workshop 1 will introduce participants to:

  • what arts markets there are around Australia
  • professional development opportunities available at events; and
  • how to submit your expressions of interest to be involved in the main event

This workshop is suitable for all career levels. Participants are not required to have a tour ready show.

Liz Rogers is the Performing Arts Manager for Artback NT. She is responsible for supporting artists and arts workers based in the Northern Territory opportunities to tour in the Territory, nationally and internationally.

Born and raised in Darwin, Rogers spent ten years based in Sydney learning the art and logistics of theatre production in both the not-for-profit and commercial sectors. In that time, she worked predominantly on musicals and children’s shows. Roger’s work has taken her touring overseas in Australasia, the Middle East and Europe. Her unique background as a production manager, stage manager, lighting and sound designer has led to an understanding of the nuances for the productions  she produces.
