Gary Single began his working life as a carpenter & joiner and arrived in Darwin in Oct 1975 to assist in the rebuilding of the devastated city after Cyclone Tracy. He joined the Museum & Art Gallery of the NT (MAGNT) as a Display Technician in 1984. Since 2000, Gary has run his own successful business specializing in art installations, conservation, and framing. This also includes preparing artworks for touring nationally and internationally, constructing traveling crates to museum standards and developing hanging and lighting systems for permanent and temporary installations. Gary has worked on over 30 Telstra NATSIA award installations and has been heavily involved in the art scene for many years.
